Specialized 2010 Mountain Line

July 16th, 2009

Snowbird day 4.  Beautiful weather, scenery and riding.  Spent the better part of a day riding the latest and greatest in the 2010 mountain line.  My biggest takeaway – there is something for everyone from tight race bikes to long travel fs bikes to a full range of 29ers…thats right, a full range of 29ers, starting at $550 hardtail and going up to 29er Epics, Stumpjumper FSR’s, Stumpjumper carbon hardtail and Stumpjumper carbon hardtail single speed…all with big wheels!

There’s a ton of new stuff, heres some of the highlights.  All Stumpjumper FSR and Epic get Fox rear shocks.  Specialized and Fox teamed up to deliver a redesigned FlowControl Mini Brain so you still get the performance of the Brain.  The Stumpjumper FSR gets a complete redesign and goes to 140mm travel front and rear and climbs and descends better then ever.  The biggest news (in my opinion) is the attention to the 29er market where there is now a full line of hardtails, full suspension race bikes (Epic), full suspension trail bikes (stumpjumper FSR) and…an s-works Stumpy carbon hardtail 29er with Sram XX tipping the scales at 20.7 lbs!  Want a superlight carbon single speed?  Check out the S-Works Stumpy carbon hardtail with ss dropouts and custom ebb – you can build your own sub 19lb single speed!
